Hi and welcome to my site! My name is David Walters and I’ve been a property manager for over a decade. I’m currently managing 4 condos with a total of 1097 units. In the past, I had developed my own system of excel spreadsheets to keep track of things such as rent and expenditures. However, as I managed more and more condos, I found it very time consuming to maintain so many spreadsheets, and that it was easy to make erros in calculations (worse, the errors were difficult to trace).
I had heard of property management computer software but was reluctant to leave my old system. However, after years of frustration and, as I mentioned, due to the fact that my workload was increasing, I decided at one point that it was time I invested the time to learn to use one of these software to save time in the long run.
I ended up doing quite a bit of online research and tried several different software (many of them had free trials) before buying one. I was very satisfied with the software as it helped me to cut down the time I spend on accounting tasks by more than half. Moreover, I no long made mistakes that caused discrepancies across spreadsheets as the software provided a central platform that pulled everything together. And when it came time to file taxes, it only took a few minutes to produce a tax report. The time I spent in learning to use the software was well worth it – I was glad I did.
Sometime ago I decided to put my research online to help other property managers to make a purchasing decisions on property management computer software. I’ll be adding information of more and more software to this site as I can find more time, so please stay tuned!
